THE WORD OF WISDOM FOR YEAR 2017

THE YEAR OF REMEMBRANCE

This year is a year of Remembrance to all Morning Star Children Worldwide.

When we talk of “remembrance” many thoughts will go to the thief on the right hand of Jesus the Christ on the Cross, who said to Him, my Lord Jesus the Christ remember me when Thou cometh into Thy kingdom. – Luke 23:42.

Another person that may come to mind is the slave man – Joseph – who when he was imprisoned told the head of Pharaoh’s butler Gen. 40:14 ‘But think of me when it shall be well with thee’.

Let us review the story of Joseph who was a child of his father’s old age. His brethren grew jealous of him because his father made him a coat of many colours – Gen. 37:3 and because of his two dreams connecting his brethren and his parents.

The interpretations of the dreams were clear indications of putting Joseph as supreme over the family. These developments did not go down well with his elder brothers to the extent of plotting to kill him when Joseph was sent by his father to take food to his brethren.

When they saw him afar off, they said here cometh the dreamer, let us kill him. They failed to know that if God does not kill no one can kill. God will not allow our enemies to kill us in the mighty name of Jesus the Christ. Amen.

He was sold into slavery and bought by Portiphar. Not long, the Grace of God was shown upon his master, who made him the overseer of his family. He was tempted by his master’s wife but be did not fail. God will not allow us to fail in our life time. Amen.

From his master’s house he was taken to prison on account of the sin not committed but the grace of God was always with him. We all know the story very well. In the course of his imprisonment, he interpreted the dreams of both the head butler and the head baker of Pharaoh which came to pass. He told the head butler, please “Remember me when it is good for you” – Gen. 40:14.

Joseph was not remembered but God created an enabling environment for him to be remembered when Pharaoh dreamt and there was no interpreter, and at this juncture, the Spirit of God made the head butler to remember Joseph. I pray God will cause people to remember us in time of our needs. Amen.

My brethren in the Lord, if you want God to remember you this year and for ever, please eschew bitterness, pride, back-biting, evil behavior and hatred. I pray once again that God will remember every one of us in the mighty name of Jesus the Christ. Amen.
