In The Kingdom of God U-Turns are allow
I want to talk about the U-Turn Sign. We mostly see the No U-Turn Sign, meaning we cannot make a legal U-Turn or turn around and go another direction. However with Christ when we fall into sin, He wants us to make a U-Turn. A U-Turn is a change of direction, a change of heart. Another word we often use is Repent. We as Christians when we know we done wrong, we must repent and make it right. See Acts 3:19, quote below.
Building a life means that we have to walk some rough roads sometimes. All of us have seen the hard times. We have hit a few potholes in life’s highway. We gave tried building a better life for ourselves by using our wits, through hard labor and a lot of trial and error. Sadly the errors seem to outweigh the right and we find ourselves facing more trials than we expected.
We are all headed in the wrong direction, just as Paul was.The direction we are headed seems right for a while; we do good things along the way; we may even think we are going God’s way, headed toward him. However, the time comes when we realize that it’s not God’s way at all, but we are headed the wrong way; we’re not in God’s race at all but on a different course. God is calling us to make a u-turn to follow Jesus.Let’s think about Paul’s u-turn and what was involved in it. Turn to Phil. 3: 4-9. We’ll begin with the second half of v. 4.The good new is that God has promised us in John 10:10, "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."
